Sec. 16-8 Dogs and cats restricted on cemeteries and other public
grounds
ADD: 16-8 (a)
1. Parks: Leashed dogs are permitted in all township parks except
for the following in which dogs are not allowed:
A. Town Cemetery and Private Cemeteries (St. Michael Church
cemetery) unless authorized by the owning entity.
B. Schoolgrounds, unless authorized by the school
administration.
C. The town park located at the corner of Mill St and Main St.
across from the library, no dogs allowed at any time.
D. Any special event where it is posted that dogs are prohibited
including during Blueberry Fest (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) at Moon Lake
Park and any other special event taking place in any town park where
prohibition of dogs during the event is posted as strictly prohibited.
D. The exception to C above shall be that Service dogs, meeting
ESA and/or PSA compliancy rules and with the owner having the proper
papers/letters from a physician, certified service pet company, permit or
license(s) in hand will be allowed to have a dog within the park during
such special events so long as the dog is leashed at all times and uses
specifically marked areas and/or “doggie” bags for the dog relieving itself.
Only service dogs are allowed under the subsection of this ordinance.
E. Penalty: A person charged with violating any portion of this
subsection shall be subject to forfeiture in an amount not less than
$50.00 nor more than $200.00. In addition, the violator shall be required
to leave the park area immediately with the animal.
