REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

These minutes represent the general subject matter discussed in this meeting but do not reflect a verbatim documentation of the subjects and conversation that took place.

1. Chairman David Ciembronowicz called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6 P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz , John Sleeman , Cassie Fleming, John Rautio and Clerk/Treasurer Helen G Hyde. Clerk testified the meeting was properly posted.
2. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Agenda, item #4 no meeting was held June 19, 2024, also amend minutes on item number 3, 10, 11 of the June meeting, names were written incorrectly. Motion Carried.
3. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded John SLeeman to approve the Minutes of the Regular Town Meeting, June 13, 2024, and the Special town Board meeting June 21, 2024 Motion Carried.
4. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Financial Report. Motion Carried.
5. Heads of Departments present. Jackie Pooler- Library, Police- Schneeburger, Fire- John Darwin, EMS- Adam Olson, Highway- letter from Andy Jatzo
6. Ad Hoc Committee for Housing- a report read by Bill Trautt, will be available in the clerk’s office. Parks & Recreation-No report
7. Citizens Comments. Sue Lindquist, Jodi Forsythe, John Castro
8. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by John Rautio to approve the request form Jared Botten for a Special Use Permit for a street dance to be held on July 26, 2024 from 8 PM to 1 AM. This will be held at 68290 S Main Street, there will be a noise ordinance enforced as well as open container, use of the barricades and trash cans. Motion carried.
9. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleman to approve the Special Event Permit from the Lions Club for the Blueberry Festival Parade. Motion carried.
10. A motion by John Rautio, seconded by Cassie Fleming to recommend approval for a short term rental from Greg Ogren at 64880 County Highway H. Motion carried.
11. A roll call motion for approval of Resolution to initiate discontinuance of ally on Iron Rive VFW and Town of Iron River property per chapter 82, Wis. Statutes. John Rautio- Yes, Cassie Fleming-Yes, Rich Nemitz-Yes, John Sleeman-Yes, David Ciembronowicz – Yes
12. A motion by Cassie Flemimg, Seconded by John Sleeman to table the Resolution for the Town of Iron River Platted Town Road (unbuilt North Shore Drive) to Abandon order per Chapter 82, Wis. Statutes. until further notice. Motion Carried.
13. Discussion on current County Zoning coverage for Town of Iron River. Per Rich Nemitz, the assistant zoning administrator took a different job; no one will be in this area until they can hire more people.
14. Update on Blueberry Festival July 25-28, Dog Ordinance reminder, no dogs allowed in Park.
15. Update on Officer Position. Brittney Letica started on July 16, 2024.
16. Bayfield County fair is scheduled for August 8-11 2024
17. The Town has the scheduled Road projects coming up in August, paving and such.
18. New Business In Iron River, Southside Bait.
19. Iron River Sanitary District Job Opening for outside operator is open and they are taking applications currently
20. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to adjourn at 7:10 P.M. Motion carried.
