TOWN OF IRON RIVER REGULAR
TOWN BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY DECEMBER 12, 2024 AT
THE COMMUNITY CENTER 6:00PM

THESE MINUTES REPRESENT THE GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER DISCUSSED IN THIS MEETING BUT
DO NOT REFLECT A VERBATIM DOCUMENTATION OF THE SUBJECTS AND CONVERSATION THAT
TOOK PLACE.

1. Chairman David Ciembronowicz called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
2. The Clerk testified that the meeting was properly posted.
3. Present were Supervisors Cassie Fleming, Rich Nemitz, John Rautio, and John Sleeman.

4. A motion by Cassie Flemimg, seconded by John Rautio to approve the Agenda. Motion
carried
5. A motion by John Rautio, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Minutes from
November 14, 2024. Motion carried.
6. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the financial report. Motion
carried.
7. Head of Department present were: Ambulance-Adam Olson, Fire- John Darwin, Highway­
Andy Jatzo, and Library- Jackie Pooler.
8. Citizens Comments- Maureen Dodge, Joyce Ciembronowicz, Rachael Zulwicky
9. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by John Rautio to re-appoint Jeffery Holte to the
Evelyn Goldberg Library Board of trustees, recommended approval from Chairman

Rich Nemitz- Yes, John Sleeman-Yes, David Ciembronowicz- Yes
10. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Rich Nemitz to re-appoint Dr. David Saarinen to the
Evelyn Goldberg Library Board of trustees, recommended approval from Chairman

11. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to amend the Town Board of
Supervisors resolution approved November 214, 2024 regarding ARPA funding expenditures as
follows-A. Remove funding for½ cost of Elite Screens Yard Master Pro 2 screen ($930.00) B.
Remove funding forice rink liner ($3,700.00) C. Remove funding for batteries ($2120.00 Motion
Carried. By Roll Call Vote, John Rautio- Yes, cassie Fleming-Yes, Rich Nemitz-Yes, John
Sleeman-Yes, David Ciembronowicz-Yes
12. A motion by John Sleemsn, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve ARPA expenditure of
remaining funds to repair of the Community Center doors from Rice lake Glass & Door Company
for $8,277.00. Motion carried. By Roll Call Vote, John Rautio- Yes, Cassie Fleming­ y es, Rich
Nemitz-Yes, John Sleeman-Yes, David Ciembronowicz-Yes
13. A motion by John Sleemsn, seconded by Cassie Fleming to dissolve Camp Host an·on-line
registration service for making reservations for Moon Lake Park and move the registration back into
the Clerk’s Office, Town will continue to look for Camp Host for Moon lake Park. Motion carried.

14. A motion by John Sleemsn, seconded by Rich Nemitz, to approve then 2025 Budget
reviewed and approved by Board of Supervisors following approval by Town electors at the
November 26, 2024 Town Budget Meeting. Motion carried. By Roll Call Vote. John Rautio­

15. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to purchase an Audio Assist system
for Iron River Community Center to ais those who have difficulty hearing for $7,448.30. Motion
carried.
16. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Rautio to support and financially help the
Inaugural Winter Fest Saturday February 1, 2024, for movie rental, smores purchase and other
items such as advertising and promotion for the amount of$ 750.00. Motion carried.
17. A motion by John Rautio, seconded by Cassie Fleming to accept the 2 loans from Security
State bank, Fire tender for $660,000 at 5.59% term 5 years (Amortized over Ten Years) and the
Ambulance for $285,000.00 at 5.59% term 5 years (Amortized over Ten Years) Motion carried. Roll

18. Notice. The Winter Parking regulations are in effect as of December l, 2024 2:00 AM -7:00
AM
19. Chairman Comments. Town Employees have been receiving threating and concerning emails
for the past few weeks. They have been forwarded to the Police Departments to be aware

of these emails. Chairman thanks the Iron River Foundation for all their hard work with the
winter fest and many other projects. Wishes all a Happy New year and Happy Holidays
20. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by John Rautio to enter into Closed Session Stat19.85
(1) (c), for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation and/or
performance evaluation of Town Employees, Motion carried
21. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Rich Nemitz to enter into Open Session
19.85(2) Motion carried
27. A Motion to Adjourn was made by John Sleeman, Seconded by Rich Nemitz. Motion
carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:55 PM.
