REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

- Chairman Richard Forsythe called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6 P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz, John Rautio, Steve Probst, Cassie Fleming and Clerk Treasurer Helen G Hyde, she also testified the meeting was properly posted.
- Roll call of Town Board. Richard Forsythe- Chairman, Steve Probst- Supervisor, Rich Nemitz- Supervisor, John Rautio- Supervisor, Cassie Fleming – Supervisor. All present
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by John Rautio to approve the agenda. Motion Carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by John Rautio to approve the Minutes of the Regular Town Meeting February 12, 2026. Motion Carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the Financial Report. Motion Carried.
- Heads of Departments present John Darwin-Fire, Adam Stegmann- Ambulance, Jacqueline Pooler- Library, Andy Jatzo-Highway, John Sleeman-Recycling Center
- No Citizens Comments
- Update on Ad Hoc Zoning. So far there are Four members involved in the ad Hoc Zoning Committee, Josh Rowley, Scott Weyant, Tom Westlund and Chris Deising. These members will go to meetings and report back to the Town Board.
- Update on School Referendum. Cody Fechtelkater spoke on the upcoming referendum on April 7, 2026, for capital Maintaince. He stayed until the meeting was done to answer any questions as well.
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Rautio to recommend approval for Bayfield County/Northern Natural Gas for a Class A Shoreland grading permit for pipeline repair work within 300 feet of an inland lake. Motion carried.
- A motion by John Rautio, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the new rates presented by the Towns UDC inspector Robert Lietha as written. A copy is on file in the Clerks Office. Motion carried.
- Steve Probst updated the Town Board on the Timber sales they approved last year. The Timber has been sold. It brought in the Town $30,000.00 for the sale.
- Moon Lake park rules and regulations will be reviewed at the April Town Board Meeting
- The Town Board will discuss and come up with ideas for the 2026 Bayfield County Health Community Wellness Grant, perhaps for Moon Lake Park improvements.
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Cassie Fleming to add an additional officer position to the EMS, a Privacy Officer, wages not to exceed what the current director is making. Motion carried.
- Motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Cassie Fleming to approve Paula Millar as the new privacy Officer for EMS. Motion carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by Rich Nemitz to move monies for Donations from the 2025 Budget to the 2026 Budget as follows, Ambulance- $32,482.46, Fire-$12,583.33, Recycling Center-$2,180.69, Police-$41,743.16. Motion carried.
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Steve Probst to adjourn at 7:25 P.M. Motion carried
