REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

- Chairman Richard Forsythe called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6 P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz, John Rautio, Steve Probst, and Clerk Treasurer Helen G Hyde , she also testified the meeting was properly posted. Cassie Fleming was not present
- Roll call of Town Board. Richard Forsythe- Chairman, Steve Probst- Supervisor, Rich Nemitz- Supervisor, John Rautio- Supervisor,Cassie Fleming not present
- A motion by John Rautio, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the Agenda. Motion Carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by John Rautio to approve the Minutes of the Regular Town Meeting January 8, 2026,and the Special Town Board Meeting on December 16, 2025. Motion Carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the Financial Report. Motion Carried.
- Heads of Departments present John Darwin-Fire, Adam Stegmann- Ambulance, Jacqueline Pooler- Library, Andy Jatzo-Highway, John Sleeman-Recycling Center
- No Citizens Comments
- Update on Ad Hoc Zoning. So far there are three members involved in the ad Hoc Zoning Committee, Josh Rowley, Scott Weyant, and Tom Westlund. These members will go to meetings and report back to the Town Board.
- Motion by Steve Probst, seconded by John Rautio to create a new winter parking for Main Street in Iron River.( November 1 – May 1)Sunday –Wednesday= East side of Main Street: Thursday-Saturday = West side of Main Street . Motion carried.
- A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by Rich Nemitz to Table the request from the UDC Inspector , Robert Lietha, until the March meeting . Motion carried.
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Rautio to move the Library unused funds from the 2025 to the 2026 Budget under State Statue 65.90. $6,682.90. Motion carried.
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Rautio to respectfully decline to the request to donated money to build the New Animal Control Facility, to be built by 2027 in Ashland. The Iron River Board Member, Rich Nemitz spoke on the amount of extra money the school district and the County have taken this year and this Town has already budgeted and this expense was not projected in the Budget. Motion carried.
- Update on the Anthony Mitchell Building on Main Street across from the Coop. Mr. Mitchell was in attendance and spoke about his plans for the building in the near future. The Town Board still is enforcing the request to have the building torn down by June 30, 2026 because it is very dangerous to the public and is nearly falling down presently.
- Table the update on Moon Lake Park rules until the March Regular Town Board Meeting. Steve Probst/Rich Nemitz. Motion carried.
- A motion by Rick Forsythe, seconded by John Rautio to move the May Regular Town Board Meeting to May 7, 2026. Motion Carried.
- A motion by John Rautio, seconded by Rich Nemitz to accept the re-new of the Town Assessor Natalie DeLeasky, a three year contract. 2026-2028. Motion carried
- A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Steve Probst to adjourn at 7:15 P.M. Motion carried
