REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2023

These minutes represent the general subject matter discussed in this meeting but do not
reflect a verbatim documentation of the subjects and conversation that took place.

1. Chairman David Ciembronowicz called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6
P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz, John Sleeman, Roric Gilmer, Cassie Fleming
and Clerk/Treasurer Helen G Hyde. Clerk testified the meeting was properly posted.
2. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Agenda, Motion
Carried.
3. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Minutes of the
Special Town Board Meeting August 24, 2023 and the Regular Town Board meeting on
August 10, 2023. Motion Carried.
4. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Financial Report.
Motion Carried.
5. Heads of Department: Police- Officer Voss, Fire-John Darwin, Ambulance- Sam Gilbert,
Library- Jacquline Pooler, Recycling Center- John Sleeman
6. Ad Hoc Committee- housing, parks & rec. Bill Trautt reported to Town Board about the
research he and the committee have done regarding housing possibilities in the Town.
They are currently doing a study and will report back to the town when it is complete.
7. Citizens Comments. Karlan Williams asked about a town handbook, if one was available
to look at or on the website. Jim Angster- Wake boats on the Pike Lake Chain, was
concerned someone was going to be injured. Patti Lindaloff- resident of Oulu, in support
of the Library. Cynthia Samuals- asking about fireworks on the Agenda doesn’t
understand why permits are still allowed outside of the 4 th of July. Bruce Carnahan-
speaking about wake boats on the Pike Lake Chain feels they are ok and supports them,
feels like all should be reasonable when on the lakes. John Quam-expressing his point of

view about the pornographic books at Library, feels those books should be put away so
children cannot see them.
8. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to recommend approval to Jenna
& Brett Diersen at 69510 West Long Lake Road for a Class A special use permit, after the
fact grading permit. The Planning commission also approves this request. Motion
carried.
9. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Roric Gilmer to recommend approval for
Allison Ruffi at 68595 North Bohn Street for a short term rental. Motion carried.
10. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Rich Nemitz to allow Fishin Chicks to use
Moon Lake Park on January 20, 2024 for the 15 th annual fishin chick’s event. They asked
the Town to plow the parking lot for all the trailers and cars that are present during the
event. Motion carried.
11. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to table the request from David
McDonald to discuss the Motor boat wake problem on the Pike Lake Chain until further
information can be obtained. Motion Carried.
12. The Iron River Lions Club requested a permit to place a shipping Container on their
property at 8650 Topper Road for storage of Blueberry Festival equipment. The
Chairman explained that the county is not permitting any shipping container’s to be
placed on any property for 8 months so the Town Board took no action at the time.
13. Well Protection Ordinance. Not complete, tabled until further information can be
obtained.
14. Opening of the Ambulance bids. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Roric Gilmer
to accept the Bid from Lehto Heating/Cooling for $5000.00, if no down payment is made
in 72 hours the bid will be declined. Motion carried.
15. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Roric Gilmer to table the request from Tami amd
Joe Derasmi to make Spider Drive a Town road. Town will look into some options first.
Motion carried.
16. There was no action taken by the Board for a request from Gingar Pagac for a Fire Work
permit on October 7, 2023.
17. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Rich Nemitz to adjourn at 7:50 P.M. Motion
carried.
