REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

These minutes represent the general subject matter discussed in this meeting but do not
reflect a verbatim documentation of the subjects and conversation that took place.
1. Chairman David Ciembronowicz called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6
P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz, John Sleeman, Roric Gilmer, Cassie Fleming
and Clerk/Treasurer Helen G Hyde. Clerk testified the meeting was properly posted.
2. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Cassie Fleming to approve the Agenda, Motion
Carried.
3. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the Minutes of the
Regular Town Board Meeting September 14, 2023. Motion Carried.
4. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Financial Report.
Motion Carried.
5. Heads of Department: Police- Officer Voss, Fire-John Darwin, Library- Jacquline Pooler,
Recycling Center- John Sleeman
6. Ad Hoc Committee- housing, parks & rec. Helena Jameson –looking for another court
for pickle/tennis court, Tree lighting and movie for kids December 9 th , 2023, looking into
advertising from the coop ad board. Garden club- 10 sidewalk pots purchased- took
down hanging flower pots and now putting up charismas decorations.
Cassie Fleming- adhoc housing committee- 1 st Thursday of every month to discuss
housing options –looking for people to join this club
7. Citizens Comments. None.
8. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Cassie Fleming to adopt the new Fire Work
Ordnance to replace the current one, this Ordinance is available to see at the Clerk’s
Office. Motion carried.
9. Update; The Fire/Ambulance vehicle, the Town will reopen any bid received in the
November Regular Town Board Meeting , $6000.00 or best offer
10. Update: Bayfield County will provide EMS $20,000.00 in 2024 for training and
recruitment/retention of personnel
11. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Roric Gilmer to confirm Trick or Treating for
the Town of Iron River on October 31, 2023. Motion carried.
12. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Rich Nemitz to give Bayfield county $150.00
towards chronic waste disease carcass collection dumpsters in Iron River. Motion
carried.
13. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by John Sleeman to approve the Class A Malt
beverage license for Family Dollar Stores of Wisconsin at 7775 US Highway 2, motion
carried.
14. A motion by John Sleeman, seconded by Rich Nemitz to adjourn at 7:00 P.M. Motion
carried.
