REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING

1. Chairman Richard Forsythe called the Regular Town Board Meeting to order at 6 P.M. Present were Supervisor Rich Nemitz, John Rautio, Steve Probst, Cassie Fleming and Clerk Treasurer Helen G Hyde, she also testified the meeting was properly posted.
2. Roll call of Town Board. Richard Forsythe- Chairman, Steve Probst- Supervisor, Rich Nemitz- Supervisor, John Rautio- Supervisor, Cassie Fleming – Supervisor. All present
3. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Steve Probst to approve the agenda. Dissolve Item # 13, Reword #11 to open bids for loader loan. Motion carried.
4. A motion by Steve Probst, second by Rich Nemitz to approve the Minutes of the regular Town Board Meeting August 4, 2026, and The Special Town Board Meeting on August 26, 2026. With requested changes to the 8/4/2026 meeting. Motion carried.
5. A motion by Steve Probst, seconded by Rich Nemitz to approve the Financial Report. Motion approved.
6. Heads of Department present: Andy Jatzo- Highway, John Sleeman-Recycling Center, John Darwin-Fire, Jacquiline Pooler – Library, Matt Ladwig-Police, John Sleeman-Recycling Center
7. Citizens Comments. None
8. Amotion by Steve Probst, seconded by Cassie Fleming to approve the request from Iron River Chamber for a Special Event permit to close Lea Street, north of Hwy 2 to the corridor, from 7AM-3PM, for a foot race on September 13, 2026. Town will provide cones and barricades for the race. Motion carried.
9. Update on 2027 fishing opener in Iron River, Iron River Chamber. Kori Zenz, Chamber President explained the Governor will be coming to Wisconsin for the opener.
10. A motion by Rich Nemitz, seconded by Steve Probst to approve the request from Trails North ATV Club to close West Railroad Street from Nain Street to alley going West for the AV fundraiser on September 19, 2026 from 10AM-6PM. The Town will provide cones and barricades. Motion carried.
11. A motion by Rick Forsythe, seconded by John Rautio to accept the loan from Security State Bank for the Highway Department loader, 4.15%, 6 years, payments of $24,778. Motion carried.
12. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Steve Probst to extend Jane Snilsberg to the Police & Fire Commission for the term of may1, 2026 – May 1, 2028. Motion carried.

14. No action on request to snow plow the County Boat landing on Long Lake. The Town and County are working to address parking concerns.
15. Update on County Forestry amount of the stumpage for the Town Land. The timber sale is now complete. The Total sale was $39,457.38 the Towns portion is $36,957.38.
16. A motion by Cassie Fleming, seconded by Steve Probst to adjourn at 7:15 pm. Motion carried.
